The St. Stephen Visitor Center serves as a eco-tourism headquarters, focusing on the northern area of Berkeley County.

Organized hikes and kayak/canoe paddles are available, by reservations.  Tour Guides are available for every outdoor outing scheduled.

With Advanced Notice, Reservations for Special Group Outings are Welcomed.

Walker Creek Golf Course

The St. Stephen Walker Creek Golf Course is located at 957 Bogel Lane, off Mendel Rivers Road, in St. Stephen, SC.  Golfers can play 18 holes of golf for $10.00.  Bring your own golf cart or rent one for $5.00.  A variety of club house sandwiches and drinks are available.  Days/Time of operation: Open 7 days/week from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. with last tee off @ 6 p.m.  Large groups are welcome, but please call in advance for appointment.  Memberships can be purchased annually.  Telephone:  (843) 901-0451  or  Email:  landinggear8@yahoo.com

 

 

JULY MEET UP/CLEAN UP

If you enjoy nature on the water, then why not help with a clean up and enjoy the rest of the day paddling. Friends Of Berkeley Blueways will be planning monthly clean ups and paddles on our blueways in Berkeley County. Each clean up will last approximately two-three hours unless otherwise noted. Local paddlers will be available to paddle with you after the clean up and showcase some of our trails.

Our meet up/clean up in July will take place in Cross at the Duck Pond-We will meet at the Fred Day boat landing at 8:00 am on July 10th. We plan to clean the landing and campsites along the beach. After the clean up we will explore the Duck Pond and the coves in the area. Please e-mail Archie at ilike2kayak@juno.com  if you plan to attend.

Your canoe or kayak, gloves, pickup sticks, bug spray, sun protection, drink & lunch for the paddle.

 

SC Beach Sweep/River Sweep in Berkeley County

The SC Beach Sweep/River Sweep in Berkeley County, SC will be held from 9:00 am until noon on Saturday September 18, 2010.  We are looking for paddlers or paddle groups who would like to assist us with clean-ups on some of our islands located on Lake Marion & Lake Moultrie.  Free camping will be provided at Camp Moultrie, located on Lake Moultrie, Friday and Saturday night. This includes hot showers & restrooms plus lunch & dinner on Saturday.  You will also have a great opportunity to explore some of Berkeley Blueways Trails www.berkeleyblueways.com with local paddlers.
